Mattison Crossing at Manalapan Avenue is proud to host After the Storm Support Group for Women on the third Tuesday of every month. After the Storm helps women learn not only to survive, but thrive, in the aftermath of a divorce, loss of a life partner, or when life's daily grind is becoming a challenge.This group is free and open to all women trying to move forward in their lives. We hope to provide a supportive environment that will provide open discussions along with tools and techniques to help women raise their sense of self.
This month, we're welcoming guest speaker Gemma Nastasi, certified health coach, to speak about Positive Psychology. In 2009 Gemma started to study holistic nutrition and positive psychology. After working with many clients she realized that poor self care was a symptom of a bigger problem. Many of her clients were unhappy with their life and suffered from poor self esteem. She realized that the mind and body connection could not be overlooked when trying to live a happier and healthier life. Gemma went on to study positive psychology and got her certification as a positive psychology practitioner.
She has written 2 books, Happy, Healthy Life and The Positive Psychology Diet, 21 Days to a Happier and Healthier Life. Gemma works with her clients to bring balance into their lives, reframe their thoughts, control mind chatter, change bad habits, de-stress, create goals, as well as help with clients nutritional needs. She uses testing, meditation and coaching to help her clients find their inner self and improve their character strengths. As Gemma says " You are what you eat and what you think."
