Legal & Risk Management
Risk management is dependent on strong communication, synonymous with quality care, and interconnected with all aspects of the community. There are four ways Milestone can assist with risk management:
1. Staff Onboarding
We believe in giving employees the tools they need to be successful right out the gate. We teach the importance of following policies and procedures, as well as the importance of thorough documentation.
2. Quality Assurance Audits
We encourage Executive Directors to take a proactive approach to risk management by knowing the strengths and areas of opportunity for every facet of their community’s operation. Our approach involves reviewing all incident reports and conducting care quality audits regularly.
3. Practice Drills
Do your staff know what to do in the case of an emergency? You may think they do, but the truth is you won’t really know until it happens, and by then it’s often too late. Running regular practice drills helps training stay fresh and reduces the risk that important steps will be overlooked. Drills also help identify staff weaknesses before a problem occurs.
4. Staff Training
Once employee weaknesses in risk management have been identified, we can help rectify through continuous and consistent training.
