On July 1, 2009, Milestone Retirement Communities added Ken Wahnschaffe to its Regional Staff to help oversee various properties in the company's portfolio. Ken has over 15 years experience in the Senior Housing Industry holding positions with Leisure Care and Highgate Senior Living. Ken served in a variety of capacities for Leisure care including General Manager of a turnaround property which improved and stabilized in less than 9 months. Ken also served as the Vice President of Operations for Highgate and was responsible for growing that company and stabilizing the properties by finding market niches that were underserved. In addition, Ken has tremendous experience in developing use for space that previously went underutilized and subsequently produced additional revenue for the company.
Milestone has just added 3 new properties to its management company and Ken will help transition some of these properties and take on new responsibilities as the company grows.

Milestone hires Patrick Dooley to assist operations:
Milestone Retirement Communities has hired Patrick Dooley to serve as a Regional Director of Operations for their expanding needs as new properties have been recently added to under their oversight. Patrick has over 10 years experience in Senior Housing and has worked for Leisure Care as a General Manager for 3 years. Patrick has also worked for Bonaventure (formerly Mountain West) as an Administrator, Regional Director of Operations and as a corporate Director of Quality Assurance. Patrick has many years of experience in the hospitality industry and has also served as a Regional Director of Business Development for a company that provided technological support for various businesses. Patrick will assist in overseeing two turnaround properties initially and will assume the start-up operations for Sea View Assisted Living which will open in June.
Sea View Senior Living is a new project under construction in Brookings, Oregon and is owned by an ownership group led by Bob and Theresa Dunn who have built and owned many assisted living communities in the western United States.

Milestone announces the expansion of Chandler's Square in Anacortes, Washington:
Milestone Retirement Communities announces the groundbreaking of a 25 unit independent living addition to Chandler's Square in Anacortes, Washington. This expansion should be completed and ready to occupy in July, 2010. The 25 units are 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments and are being build with many upgrades including washer/dryers, fireplaces and appliance upgrades. This addition came about due to the strong performance of Chandler's Square which has averaged over 98% occupancy in the past 2+ years and the community now holds a wait list of over 40 individuals.
