Paul W. Dendy was a founder and is Chief Executive Officer of Milestone Retirement Communities, LLC, located in Vancouver, Washington. Milestone began operations in April 2008 with 5 retirement communities and 289 resident units. Currently, Milestone manages 16 communities totaling 1278 resident units, plus an adult day care with average daily attendance of over 40 seniors. Milestone's management team owns all or part of 10 of the 16 communities.
Paul has worked in the seniors housing field since 1989. He has served in finance, development, acquisitions and senior executive roles in public and private companies with as many as 3000 seniors housing units. He has acquired or developed and financed several dozen retirement housing properties. Previously, he had extensive careers in venture capital and public accounting.
He has been active within retirement housing industry groups and was previously a member of the Board of Directors and the Owner/Operator Advisory Board of NIC. He currently serves on the planning committee for this Regional Symposium.
Paul holds a BA in Finance and an MBA, both from the University of Washington. But he is proudest of being a grandfather of 8.
Mark A. Wiesner is the Chief Operations Office and co-owner of Milestone Retirement Communities, LLC, located in Vancouver, Washington. In this role, he focuses on operations of the retirement communities under management, adding to that his expertise in budget development, acquisitions and operational design of new communities. Milestone currently manages 16 communities comprised of 1278 resident units. The Milestone management team owns all or part of 10 of those managed communities.
Prior to starting Milestone, Mark was responsible for 12 of the senior communities managed by LifeStyles. These properties comprised independent living, assisted living and dementia care with nearly 1200 units. His responsibilities included oversight of regional operations staff, direct oversight of some Executive Directors at properties, budget development, program development, program implementation and managing properties to resident and owner expectations.
Before joining LifeStyles in 2000, Mark served as Western Division Vice President for Alterra Corporation with responsibility for up to 50 properties in 7 western states. He was with Alterra from 1995 through 2000. Between 1990 and 1995, Mark served as the Operations Manager for Crossings Corporation which was subsequently merged with Alternative Living Services to form Alterra. Mark was responsible for operations within the western states, site approval for development projects, acquisitions of existing properties and integrating new properties into Alterra's systems.
Mark has also served as Director of Senior Services for a Southern Oregon Regional Medical Center and as Program Manager for the Crisis Hotline in Southern Oregon.
Mark has a BA in Communications from Cal State Long Beach.
Donald E. Anderson is Chief Clinical & Marketing Officer and co-founder of Milestone Retirement Communities, LLC, located in Vancouver, Washington. In this role, he focuses on operations of the retirement communities under management, adding to that his expertise in care management and marketing of the properties. Milestone currently manages 16 communities comprised of 1278 Resident Units. Milestone management team owns all or part of 10 of those managed communities.
Don was most recently Vice President of Marketing and Clinical Affairs of LifeStyles, which operated 16 senior communities with services including independent living, assisted living and dementia care totaling 1600 units and 700 employees. In addition to overseeing the global marketing and clinical activities of the company, he was active at the building level working closely with the Executive Directors and their teams in training and development of staff in programs aimed at delivering quality care in promoting resident and family satisfaction and insuring high occupancy.
Prior to LifeStyles in 2000, Don had been in the health care industry since 1975, most recently as Vice President of Support Services in a facility nationally recognized for its innovation in service delivery, and employee training and retention. His experience covers a vast range of disciplines having performed in management of senior housing communities, acute care hospital, physician office practices, medical office building, physician recruitment and training and development of care and support staff in both senior housing and acute care.
In addition to his marketing and management experience, Don's passion is the training and development of employees to consistently deliver exceptional customer service.
Seniors have always been important to Angelo Branch and he has great pride in working for a company that believes in caring
for Seniors as if each one was a family member of those providing the
care. His closest friend was born in 1929 during what is so aptly named
"The Greatest Generation", and lives in a Seniors Housing development
in Vancouver, Washington.
Angelo joined the Milestone team in March 2009, and has been in the
Seniors Housing industry since October, 2007. He has managed
Accounting/Finance operations for over 25 years and has managed IT
systems for 10 years for several companies. Mr. Branch has owned and operated a business in the Business Services
arena as well as the retail industry. He brings a strong sense of
service to the Milestone team through his varied experience. Angelo
worked with the Founders of Milestone at his previous position. He loves music, travel and lively conversation.
Patrick Dooley has over 20 years experience in the
seniors housing and hospitality industries. He has a strong background
in business development and operations, having owned and operated
several successful companies during his career. Patrick has been
instrumental in the turnaround of over 12 seniors housing communities
and the development of 14 new communities in the Northwest. He has
worked almost every position in a retirement community and is an
investor in seniors housing, so he understands all aspects of
operations. Patrick attributes much of his success to his education
from The School of Hotel & Restaurant Management at Washington State

Patrick loves to entertain, travel and spend time with his wife and three daughters.
Jim Altrichter first began working with seniors as
an orderly (old term for Nursing Assistant) in a skilled nursing home in
his home town of Little Falls, MN. This summer part-time job in high
school introduced him to health care and helped him decide on his future
career path. Jim attended the College of Scholastica in Duluth, MN,
where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Nursing. After working in
various nursing settings including Chemical Dependency, Long-term Care,
Trauma ICU and Cardiovascular ICU, Jim made a career change and joined
GlaxoSmithKline, Inc. (GSK), a large pharmaceutical company. Jim held
various positions with GSK in sales, marketing and business
development. But it is his love of the clinical work and developing
teams that makes Jim the perfect individual to lead our health services
team at Milestone Retirement Communities. His clinical knowledge
coupled with his business background provides him the unique skill-set
to navigate the complexities of resident care and nursing services.
Jim enjoys outdoor activities, hiking, camping, fishing and hunting.
He is a member of the American Nurses' Association and the American
Nephrology Nurses' Association.
Joe Jedlowski joined Milestone in July 0f 2011. He
brings a wealth of extensive experience in multi-site senior housing
management background in operations, sales & marketing and quality
services, including experience in the retirement living, assisted
living, memory care and skilled nursing industry sectors. Joe
previously served as Regional Vice President of Operations with Atria
Senior Living Group in Louisville, KY. He was responsible for
overseeing both the Mid-Atlantic and Mid-West regions, which consisted
of 12 Assisted Living/Independent Living communities, (1400 units) in
each region. Prior to joining Atria, Joe was Vice President of
Operations with Senior Living Care Corp. Joe is active within industry
associations, most recently serving on the board of directors for the
Indiana Assisted Living Association.
In his spare time, Joe loves to spend time with his friends and
family. His hobbies include going to the beach, kayaking, hiking,
golfing and watching football.
Rosellen DeSimone is the newest addition to the Milestone Corporate Management Team, bringing over 17 years of senior living experience, working in a variety of care level communities which include independent retirement, assisted and memory care settings.
Rosellen possesses a leadership, management and coaching style, that works in concert with the core values and principles of Milestone. She is passionate about a resident-centered culture that promotes training and customer service, with the desire to serve and help others grow and thrive.
Previous experience includes her role as Corporate Director of Sales for Senior Resource Group, overseeing nineteen communities in eight states.
In her leisure time, Rosellen enjoys reading, hiking, Pilates, Zumba and spending time with family and friends.
